March 28 who will rule the earth? This is the account of the days when this earth was governed by the birds. They were the master of flora and fauna of the earth. They were living a happy and comfortable life under their king the Ostrich.
The ostrich was not only the strongest bird but also the most compassionate king. He was a merciful ruler, prefect administrator and wise controller of the affairs of the state. Because he was a righteous and resourceful king, so all the birds respected and obeyed him .He was in the very good books of the birds. His triumph as a ruler was due to his alacrity in feeling and solving the tribulations of his public. He kept himself abreast of all the ups and downs of the state. It was his routine to clandestinely visit the different regions of his realm. For that purpose he concluded his tour of the world within a week.
No bird had any feeling of resentment against him. Love and respect for all were the rules of the day. His dominion was the real embodiment of a welfare state.
Once he was on the customary trip of that kind when he saw a weird and wonderful creature .He observed that the animal was not only running but also flying. He was very much fascinated by that. He designated that as fly-running. He observed that eagerly all the day. He was so enchanted by the skill that he intended to become skilled at that.
When the night fell, he went to the animal’s den. He introduced himself and told him about the fondness of the art of fly-running. The kangaroo entertained him well and informed him about the hazards of that art. The first and foremost condition of learning the skill was to eat green leaves and blades of grass. The ostrich was so spellbound by that skill that he immediately yielded to all the conditions. The kangaroo again cautioned him about the dangers involved in the art, but the ostrich did not listen to his admonition. He was adamant to learn the art of fly-running.
The kangaroo agreed and fetched him the green grass and fresh leaves of the trees. Firstly the ostrich felt difficulty in engulfing the grass but latter he became accustomed to that. He ate grass and leaves according to the condition of the kangaroo and felt some strange changes in himself. He felt that all his thoughts were changing. His feelings were going astray and he felt an urge to run. He requested the kangaroo to teach him the art of fly-running at once. The kangaroo told him that the changes are not enough .The effect of eating grass would appear after 12 hours, so he was to wait for the next morning.
The ostrich spent that night impatiently. He could not sleep all the night. At dawn the kangaroo came and told him that as soon as he would take the first leap his flying wings would fall. It was the last chance for him to control his passions and give up his wish. The ostrich did not pay any heed to his advice and insisted on to teach him the art.
The kangaroo took him to the vast field and taught him the giant leaps. The ostrich made his first leap and his wings dropped. He did not bother and continued learning. All the day he continued learning the art. He was satisfied on his new art. The next night he spent with the kangaroo and discussed the various aspects of the art. In the morning he left for his capital.
He started his journey by running like kangaroo. Soon he felt that he would not reach his capital with fly-running. He tried to flap his wings but could not because he had foregone his art of flying for the kangaroo’s art of fly-running. He was very disturbed but nothing could be done.
On the other hand the vultures had claimed the right of throne and had occupied that by force. They imposed their will on the birds.
The birds could not save the throne in spite of the knowledge that ostrich was its real owner. They were forced to align with the vultures. So the country of the ostrich had gone to vultures. They started gnawing at every piece of flesh. They intentionally started killing the birds to drink their blood and eat their flesh.
Ostrich reached his capital after a lot of struggle .He was regretting the error made by him, but the regrets were of no avail. He was even more disturbed on knowing the situation in his capital. He went to the higher court of the owl. The owl called all the parties to listen their arguments. Owl adjourned the court till the next day for announcing the decision.
The vultures borrowed the services of the crow to make a deal with the owl. The crow was bribed in the way that he was promised to be appointed as the minister. The crow succeeded in luring the owl by praising him and offering him fresh sparrows. The next day was the decision day. All the birds were in the court of the owl to listen the historical decision. The owl declared that the throne did not belong to any bird community. It might belong to those who were able to fly high. The innocent birds were all praises for the owl on his wise decision. They did not know that it was a premeditated one.
The day was fixed for the competition. Ostrich knew that his domain was to go in the hands of vultures. He could do nothing. He knew that vulture were to tear the bird community into pieces. He prayed to god for the help. At once he thought of eagle and that satisfied him. He went to the eagle for taking part in the contest. The eagle did not agree first but after knowing the intentions of vultures he yielded. The contenders came on the spot for becoming the king. Ostrich, crows, hawks and eagles were the contenders along with the vultures. Vultures flew very high and were to grab the throne when the eagle crossed them at once. In that way the eagles became the new rulers of the bird. The vultures were ostracized and every community was given certain responsibilities.
The ostrich was much ashamed and could not stay in the capital. He went to the desert and started living with the kangaroo.
He started hiding his head into the sand on seeing any bird coming towards him due to shame. March 20 ONION PERSONALITYI have a friend who styles himself as Psychologist. His expertise and worth as a professional psychologist may be questionable, but his theory about the human being is worthy of attention and cogitation. He divides human beings into two major kinds. One is called’ Although Human” and other is called “But Human”. When I inquired about these strange types, a meaningful smile appeared on his lips and he started explaining his theory. He said that the first kind might be understood by this simple sentence: He is devoid of humanism although he is a Human. I understood his meanings and asked about the‘But human”. He was somewhat confused over my inquiry and started beating about the bush. He has not a solid argument about “BUT HUMAN”. He tried his best to answer my question in clear terms but could not. At last he thought it better to slip away from the scene. I tried myself to get some wind of the proposition. I found myself lost in his sentence which he divulged before leaving. The sentence ran as: He possesses no human values but he is a human being”. I started pondering over his logic. I was striving hard to explain the things with some arguments. For this purpose I started comparing the “But Human” with other flora and fauna of this world. First of all I compared this human type with the horse. There are some traits that are common in both the species. The horse is very difficult to control when it becomes wild. The “But Human” is always uncontrollable. The horse wants to live a life of liberty, the But human always resist restrictions. A horse is a faithful animal while But human is not. The horse saves his master’s life on the cost of his life. But human place his safety above every thing else. Here the difference began and continued for the rest of all characteristics of the horse and but human. I rejected the horse and started comparing But Human with donkey. Donkey is famous for its dignity of labor and patience. This is the reason why the west respects the “donkeys”. Americans love the donkey very much and have chosen it as elections symbol of a party. On the whole the west has a special interest in donkeys and always show regards for it. A donkey is revered for its patience like “But Human”. Donkey never demands any thing from his master like the man under discussion. A donkey loves hard work. Here the But human reared for behind the donkey .He never likes work. He wants to have a cake and eat it too. So I discarded the comparison of donkey with the “But Human”. Then I thought about the elephant. But Human remains in his airs just like the elephants remain. He never minds the trivial happenings. He is stooped to his power like the elephant. But he could not be compared with the revengeful nature of the elephant. “But human” does not remember the excesses .he wants to always make merry even at the cost of his honor. I dragged myself behind a lot of species of the animal and plants. I compared the But Human with the crow, owl, parrot and vulture but all were short of the specific characteristics of the But Human. Then I considered the plants .I made its comparisons with cabbage, with roses with a variety of vegetables but could not succeed in finding the true match for But Human. I was going to be disappointed when a strange idea saves me from disgrace. It was the ideas of comparing the But Human with the Onion. I found perfect match of this type of human being in this delicious vegetable. Onion is a universal vegetable same is the case with the But Human. THIS VARIETY OF MAN IS FOUND EVERYWHERE ON THE EARTH. Onion is a strange type of vegetable as regards its structure. It is composed of layers of the same shape through out its pith. The man is also composed of the layers of many kinds. When you peel off the onion you find a new layer, the But Human is also have many layers of corruption, misdeeds, and many other vices and follies. THE IDEA OF ONION SOLVED MY PROBLEM.I could not help admiring the psychologist who had opened to me a new world of human being where onions rule and the onions are the ruled ones. I was very thankful to my friend and was obliged to him for his resourceful thinking. March 08 CLTURAL TERRORISMCultural terrorismTerrorism is a relative term without any obvious definition. Even it has not been described exactly by the United Nations. Every nation and every religious and ethnic group describe terrorism in some ambiguous terms. There are a lot of explanations from many different angles.A severe action carried out by politically motivated groups with the Systematic use of ferocity to create a general atmosphere of panic in a population and thereby to bring about a specific political change is called terrorism. The nationalist ethnic and revolutionary groups use it for their ends. It is a derogatory term to condemn the acts of violence. Terrorism is a political method that uses threat and violence against civilians to terrorize a target group for yielding to certain political demands. It is used against governments as well as people to achieve the vested interests, which are political, religious or ideological.
Characteristics of terrorism Violence, Psychological influence, horror, Political Objectives, Premeditated targeting of general public and Unlawfulness are the hideous characteristics of terrorism. Civil disorder, political non-political, quasi, limited and state terrorism are obnoxious kinds of terrorism. State terrorism to get a strong hold over the people and policies is considered the wicked type of terrorism.
ENDS OF TERRORISM The evil objects and aims of such acts of violence vary extensively from person to person and group to group. Secession, dominance of some group, imposition of wishful policies, exploitation of economic resources and opposition to the government are a few signaled out ends of terrorism. Neo-terrorism or cultural terrorismAll these theories and propositions aside we find a novel kind of terrorism being perpetrated throughout the third world. The powers are the using overt and covert methods to achieve their interests. Acts of sabotage are not the sophisticated ways of gaining hegemony over the poorer nations. The brutal use of force involves many dangers, as it requires physical presence of the warriors of the exploiting power. Use of guns, bombs and chemical weapons are the older methods of creating panic. These older ways are control able if the host government is alive and sincere with the public. That could result in failure for the big powers. They pondered over to bring out some explicit acts that could not easily be detected. They worked out a comprehensive plan to destabilize the host governments and the people as well. They were aware of the obstinacy and ignorance of the third world people. They knew that they couldn’t overcome by mere use of force. They needed a strategy that should not demand physical involvement to destabilize the societies. They came to the conclusion that the cultural invasion of the third world would be the feasible way to achieve ends. Firstly they were made parasites by throwing away aids and grants to make them familiar with their cultures, and then the alien culture was imposed on them. This is the worst kind of terrorism that alienates the people from their own culture and civilization and makes them to adopt the style of living of the big powers. This is on the back of the theory of clash of civilizations. Whole the poor world that has hidden resources like oil gas and other precious metals is the target of this policy. Africa and south Asia is the target of this method of terrorism. It is successfully working with the conniving at the rulers of these areas. Although all the religious communities are infected yet the Muslims are the real patients. They have proved themselves an easy prey and the cultural hawks are hunting them and making merry over them. They are getting manifold advantages from this sort of terrorism. The invaders are leading them astray from their real culture through the intimidation of calling the practicing Muslims as fundamentalists and terrorists. Even the naïve governments of the Muslim world are bowing before these weapons and striving their hard to prove themselves moderate and enlightened by opposing and killing their own people. A BRIEF SURVEYTake a cursory glance at the third world and especially the Muslim world. They have been made the victim of inferiority complex and want to conceal this complex by copying the west. The Indian sub -continent, Arab states, central Asian states and African nations are the worst example of this phenomenon. The weaponry, which the west possesses and uses, consists of only FOUR words. These are the Fundamentalism, Democracy, Human rights and Terrorism. These four words are the poisonous daggers being stabbed into the bellies of the rulers as well as the people and are doing the work of hundreds and thousands of nuclear bombs. Even the publics of the developed nations never lose a chance to abet their governments by saying the Muslims and other backward people savage and uncivilized. Their cultural terrorism is making headway and providing them with respect prestige and money without their physical involvement in a lot of poor countries of the world. The United Nations organization has always been opposing verbally all kinds of exploitations yet it has not devised any plans to check this practice of the powers. On the contrary it has helped them through its wings and agencies to perform such acts of subversion. March 07 MAN AND CROWI am a Crow. I am a bird. I am not esteemed in the bird community. Human beings also abhor me. I am not envied any where in this world. What are the reasons behind this aversion? Why are you so annoyed from me? Have you ever pondered over it? No, no, never. What an absurd idea! Why should I observe the black and obnoxious bird? I do not even want to see you. I do not want to hear your voice. You are advising me to ponder over a minor creature. I am a man the most superior creature of the earth. I have no time to pay heed to your absurd advice.
But today I will tell you the truth-the bitter truth, either you are ready or not .Listen! I am a crow. I am hungry all the time. Often I snatch eatables from the starved children suffering from famines. I have no sympathy but only for myself. I snatch the offspring of birds and eat them with relish. I am still hungry and eat stale and stinging curry. My hunger does not mitigate and I eat the pieces of rotten meat. I am hungrier I do not spare even the dirt of the ears and eyes of the cows, bulls, buffaloes and donkeys. I even sip out the soaring wounds of the blighted animals.
The more I eat the more I want. I am always on the way to find some thing to eat .My stomach is never filled. It is always burning with hunger. I fly here and there all the day to get something to eat. I get things to eat whole the day but nothing can satisfy me t. I am always hungry and do not spare the filth depots. From dawn to dusk I wander in the city, village and the filth depots to glut my stomach.
Night comes and forces me to go to my nest. I spend restless night waiting for the early dawn. When it is dawn I again go out to fall on the eatables. I wonder why I am so hungry. Why my belly is not filled with all kinds of stuffs.Only the darkness prevents me from going out for eating some thing. If I see a thing to eat with other crows I try my best to snatch it. I fight for it and in this fight the thing is often wasted or goes to the hands of third party.
The filth has polluted my mind and contaminated my blood. There isn’t the thing called honor or respect with me. I face a lot of humiliation without feeling of insult or injury. I am shoed off a lot of times from all the places but I again go there. These are the reasons which have earned disgrace for me in the world. I am an abominable creature and no one likes to become my acquaintance. I am a crow the black bird .I am exemplified as the odious thing in the world of birds.
All these notorious traits aside yet I have a good quality too. I can not bear the atrocities on the crows. I make a hue and cry even for that crow which has just snatched away my piece of meat. I try my best to save that fellow from death. I do every thing to save him from the enemy.
But you the human beings are even devoid of this quality. You possess all my traits yet are called the superior creature of the earth. Lust, avarice, cruelty and all other crimes are shared by us. The only good thing in me that I love my community is not found in you. You do not take care of your fellow humans .Now decide the matter yourself; who is worse, a man or a crow??? |
